What We Recommend
Sandy Island
For that quintessential Robinson Crusoe experience (it is very possible you will be the only people here!), and some of the area's best snorkeling and diving, this speck of sand located just offshore, about 10 minutes by boat, is a popular excursion and quite possibly one of the most beautiful places you'll ever visit. Take a day out of your vacation to see this place, and plan on staying for lunch – there's a little makeshift shack/BBQ restaurant here that serves up the freshest crayfish and lobster, along with some great ribs and rum cocktails; it has been feeding hungry visitors for years.
Little Bay
For one of the best beach experiences you'll ever have without having to step foot off the island, sneak away to Little Bay, a picturesque little cove carved into the northwest coast. The swimming and snorkeling here is particularly noteworthy, and it is especially idyllic in the late afternoon when the sun starts to set. Intimate and serene most of the time, it can get busy later in the day, so depending on your mood, you may want to get there a bit earlier.
