Welcome to a place where the focus is very much quality over quantity. A gem of the highest calibre, Grenada offers everything to all people - perfect beaches, lush rainforests, hot springs, rolling mountains, cascading rivers, fragrant spice trees, picturesque towns and a vibrant culture; and its astounding natural beauty is complemented further by the friendliness of its people. Known as 'the Spice Isle', thanks to its fragrant crops of nutmeg, cocoa, cloves and cinnamon, Grenada provides great rewards to those who decide to visit its shores.

Offering a perfect combination of luxury and adventure, here you can stretch out on the beach, play in the waves, zip-line through the rainforest, go scuba diving or whale watching, take a hike and cool off in the pristine waterfall, feel your worries melt away in a hot spring… this is nature at her finest and most beautiful. And that beauty extends to its capital as well, with St. George's being widely held to be the loveliest city in the Caribbean with outstanding views to match. Discover it all for yourself.

Celebration

There are several beloved festivals throughout the winter months, both on Grenada and neighbouring Carriacou. This includes Carnival, Grenada Sailing Week, the Spice Island Billfish Tournament and the Carriacou Carnival, just to name a few. If you're not in the area during these times, most parties are low key and occur in local taverns and clubs found throughout the island.

If you are interested in getting married in Grenada, a beachfront ceremony can be lovely of course, though many who choose this destination go with either a waterfall backdrop or declaring their vows on a luxury yacht. Nothing beats this view.

Dining out in Grenada is a no-frills, high-taste affair. Most restaurants are casual, with a few high-end dining options. The vibrant and hospitable culture of Grenada is what makes every culinary experience here shine. Be prepared for some enticing and flavourful Caribbean dishes that utilize many locally grown ingredients, and of course, spices.

Most of the liveliest nightspots belong to the handful of resorts and hotels on the island. You won't have any problems finding them; just ask any local what nights are best for reggae, calypso or folk dancing. With any luck you'll come across one of Grenada's famed crab racing beach parties.

A visit to St. George's and a stroll along The Carenage – the city's lively waterfront promenade – is always a treat. Regarded as one of the Caribbean's most scenic harbours, here not only will you be treated to calming ocean views and the colourful homes and buildings that line the hilltops throughout the city and beyond, but this is where you will find clusters of quaint shops, restaurants and cafés to peruse and enjoy. You can shop here for duty-free bargains, as well as the island's trademark spices, preserves and local crafts.

Beautiful beaches abound here, and Grand Anse Beach is one of many stretches of glorious sand. Located just outside of St. George's it is sheltered from wind and surf and makes for a great escape. There's also Morne Rouge Bay, which is on the other side of St. George's, while Pink Gin Beach and Magazine Beach are other standouts, the latter of which has been nicknamed as “the Caribbean's prettiest departure lounge” as it is where many visitors get their last-minute dose of sea and sand before hopping on a plane.

We can't stress this enough, Grenada is the ideal destination for adventure seekers. Start your trip with a hike through Grand Etang National Park to explore the island's lush rainforest. Wrap up a day on your feet with a stop at Claboney Volcanic Hot Spring, where the warm sulphur pool will soothe tired muscles. Scuba enthusiasts should definitely head over to nearby Carriacou for some great underwater exploration of the area's pristinely preserved reefs.

The volcanic origins of this island are in large part responsible for the stunning rainforest landscape and rich agricultural heritage found here. The best way to initiate yourself in the immense beauty of this place, would be to begin at Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve. Get ready to meet playful monkeys and take a dip in a refreshing pool of clear water fed by a local waterfall. If this all seems too good to be true, trust that Grenada is kind of perfect like that.
