The property is a real farmhouse that has been lovingly restored to create a stunning holiday home as well as an outstanding retreat. Casa Badra is neither hotel nor bed & breakfast but a country home that blends both rustic and contemporary style and offers the unique experience of living in a trullo, found only in the area of Puglia.
There are four double bedrooms and one twin room, all with private enormous bathrooms and each named after a vegetation found in the Pugliese landscape: the Agave, the Artichoke (il carciofo), the Fig (il fico), the Pomegranate (il melograno) and the Prickly Pear (il fico d'india). Each room is slightly different with its own sense of design, layout and precious decor.
L'Agave is our master suite set in the center of the property with its own large trulli cones. With several stunning arches the room is spacious and the bathroom includes double sinks and an incredible full bathtub. From this room you can have a private access to the main living room and center of the property as well as to the second cozy kitchen for the morning breakfast.
Il Carciofo is a comfortable junior suite set next to the main kitchen with a richly colored bathroom and a super large glass shower.
Il Fico is set adjacent to the communal living room and has the largest bathroom on the property (just as big as the entire bedroom).
Il Melograno is a loft space also attached to the main living room. The bed sits in the loft in a Trullo in the oldest cone of the whole property while an easy set of stairs led to the bathroom and foyer below.
Il Fico d'India is a smaller room with a divan bed on the top deck of the villa with spectacular views over the entire property and the town of Alberobello and a pretty lovely outdoor area almost suspended up in the sky; this is a glorious space for irresistible wine sessions at sunset.
Please note that two (Il Carciofo and Il Fico d'India) of the five bedrooms open out onto the patio rather than inside the house while the other three are connected all together inside the house.
The property features also 6 bathrooms (one for each bedroom plus one connected to the main kitchen) and 2 kitchens one of which is a fully equipped food laboratory which used as an international kitchen and cooking class.
Casa Badra features iconic elements of local architecture, including 11 trulli cones (such a rare thing for a property) and throughout the restoration process, every detail has been given careful attention creating an atmosphere that is reflective of the region and refined in its design, what a beauty!
The property is located only 3 km from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Alberobello with restaurants, markets, bar and shops only a few minutes away. We can be reached in approx 1 hour from both international airports of Bari or Brindisi.
Also please know that the property is located only 20 minutes driving from the sea which means that you can set yourself in a the most tranquil setting and away from any traffic or congested area along the shores.
